John Fox

I think it’s safe to say that all you have to know about John Fox is that he starts things. It’s probably what’s made him such a terrific connector of people, products and ideas that create entirely new markets and business opportunities.

I got to know John through a project we worked on together over the past few months, called the PPC Mindmeld. John reached out to me (and 59 other online marketers like Perry Marshall and David Szetela, Bill Leake and Shelley Ellis) to record our best advice on what makes or breaks a successful Pay-per-Click advertising campaign.

It’s an interesting project. There are sixty 1-2 minute sound bytes from some of the best people in paid search. He decided to create this project after making a similar one that ended up being sponsored by Adobe.

In fact, I liked the idea so much, I met with John in person about the project, and became sponsor on the PPC Mindmeld. You can listen to all 60 speakers at PPCMindmeld.com. After the project was launched, I wanted share John’s experience of launching this endeavor and he graciously accepted to be interviewed on Marketing Nirvana, our radio show.

In the show we talk about his experience in creating micro conferences and some of the fun stuff, the pitfalls to overcome, and some marketing advice.

Then we got into autoresponders, which is really why I wanted to pick John’s brain. I love autoresponders. They let you create personal email messages, but then deliver them at scale. In fact, I usually find that our best converting traffic source is in-house email lists. We talked about autoresponders, email frequency, and the potential annoyance vs. conversion factors.

You can listen to the show live next Monday, July 11th at noon Eastern / 9am PST at WebmasterRadio.fm.

Or, you can download previous shows on iTunes.

You can also listed to previous shows at Webmaster Radio on the Marketing Nirvana page.

It’s yet another fun show, I hope you enjoy it.
